We're back! Good job to all the people who ran for executive board! We had a lot of ties this year, and ended up with seven people! Although really everyone's a winner, the executive board members are Josh Cotter, Maeve R. Charlie K., Sydney G., Erin W., Jane B., and Jane W.A. Congratulations!
In student council, we have four committees, the Spirit Day committee, the book drive committee, the food drive committee, and the fundraising committee. Each executive board member is assigned to one committee (more than one person are in some committees). There is a lot going on! Here are the committees:

Book Drive Committee: Josh Cotter and Jane Belcaster
Food Drive Committee: Charlie Kreidler
Fundraising Committee: Sydney Groulx, Erin Williams, and Jane Wilkie-Ashner
There are many upcoming events. There is a calendar on this blog listing them for the month. Make sure to check it out! At the student council meeting we had many great suggestions from Beye School students. Here are some of them:
- 4th and 5th graders could take turns helping kindergartners take down the lunch bins because it's hard for them to carry lunch bins by themselves
- Workout hour outside (everyone goes outside and plays to get exercise for an hour)
- Grade level dances (not like a cotillion, like a fun dance)
- Stuffed animal day (bring your favorite stuffed animal!)
- Clothing drive (bring old clothes to donate to a charity)
- School store
- School symbol/flag (have a contest and have students vote)
- Paint your face day (people go into a room and get their face painted)
- Coloring day (have tons of fun coloring pictures and having contests with your friends)
- Save the animals! (collect money and donate it to your favorite animal shelter)
- Air conditioning in the gym
- Better water fountains
- Art Day (have fun drawing, painting, or sketching on this day)
- Money for people in need (donate money to your favorite food pantry)

This year we have been sponsoring a kid in Nepal named Prekash. Everyone can bring in money to help him so he can grow up to be healthy and educated just like us. Remember to bring money for him!
